Victor Osimhen, the Super Eagles and Napoli of Italy forward has said that it would be victory or nothing when the former African Champions take on the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City on Friday.
In a chat with newsmen after their Wednesday training which lasted into te night, the forward said he envisaged a tough game but noted that it would be victory for them against Sierra Leone.
“It is nothing but victory on Friday but to be realistic the game will never be easy and it is not going to be easy.”
Osimhen said he was happy to rejoin the Super Eagles after missing out in the last two tune-up games against the North Adrian duo of Algeria and Tunisia, saying they just had to prepare well to overcome the Leone Stars.
“We have to prepare well which we are doing. I am very happy to be back with this squad and we are ready to go on Friday.”
The Napoli star says the fans’ absence would be felt, though admitting that he expects them to still fully support the team from their homes.
“It was disappointing (that the fans won’t be at the stadium but we understand the situation in the country. The most important thing is for them to support us at home.”
On whether he would score a goal if he is featured, Osimhen has this to say:
“For me, my goals will come obviously but the team victory comes first above my personal. I just want to help this team if I am featured.”
