The National Organising Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Col Austin Akobundu (rtd) has expressed joy and gratefulness to the Almighty God for leading Abia State through murky terrains as the state clocks 30 years of its creation in 1991.
In a goodwill message to the people and Government of the State in Umuahia on Thursday, Col Akobundu said he is joining millions of Abians to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Abia State billed for August 27, 2021 because God faithfulness to the people and the Government.
According to the revered politician and gallant military officer, Abia, as “God Own State” has, despite some challenges, achieved some milestone stones in its 30-year life span, saying that despites all odds, God has been faithful and committed to the upliftment of the State because it actually belongs to Him.
“When Group Captain Frank Ajobena was first appointed Military Administrator in August 27, 1991, the challenge was where to start because there was no physical structure to start the business of government from. But along the line, God made a way where there was no way and today, despite some glaring challenges, Abia has come up as a peaceful and economically reliable states amongst the comity of states.
“I wish to wholeheartedly felicitate with the Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, PhD for his caterpillar revolution particularly in Aba. Celebrating 30 existence of Abia State under his watch isn’t a mistake and therefore I am very elated to be part of this great celebration.
Remarkably, the PDP administration in Abia has recorded great feats, chief since its particularly under the PDP led government chief among is promotion of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises, Made in Abia products, Provision of infrastructure, showcasing Abia on the international radar etc. Today, is named the Capital of SME of Nigeria
“As we celebrate on August 27, 2021, it is my earnest prayer that God in His mercies will continue to offer Abia, our own dear State, the grace to excel and grow from strength to strength even to the highest pedestal.
