The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced a slight adjustment to the polling time for Tuesday, November 9, 2021 supplementary election in Ihiala LGA, even as it states that voting will open at 10am and close at 4pm.
Chief Festus Okoye, INEC National Commissioner and Chairman Information and Voters’ Education Committee disclosed the adjustment in a statement, insisting that the decision will be strictly followed.
Barr Okoye explained that the decision followed a “careful review of the prevailing situation in Anambra State and is being widely shared with the stakeholders including security agencies”
INEC therefore urged all the “political parties, voters, election duty officials, election observers, the media and the general public to note this slight modification.
“We also appeal to citizens to conduct themselves in an orderly manner to ensure that the election is brought to a peaceful conclusion” Okoye maintained.
