2023 PDP Presidential Flag: Why Atiku Abubakar will Grab It, Group Says

A group, the Alhaji Atiku Abubakar Media Group, has outlined reasons it thinks former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar will fly the flag of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) come 2023 general elections.

Mr Ukpai Emma Ukpai, the South East Director of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar Media Group told newsmen in Umuahia at the weekend that Atiku with Peter Obi as Vice will be a perfect match to restore the glory of Nigeria from 2023.

Said he, “Atiku will lead Nigeria to the promise land from 2023”.

Responding to questions from journalists in Umuahia, Ukpai believed that with a renowned economist, banker and former governor of Anambra State as his Vice, the former Vice President will revamp the economy of Nigeria which, he noted, is now in the shambles, in a record time.

Flanked by the Abia director of the organization, Chief Iheanyi Igbo-Anulam, Ukpai stated that with the way things are, the nation needs a good hand to turn things around for good.

According to Ukpai, the Atiku Abubakar Media Group wants to sensitize the public on his 2023 Presidential ambition through the media, pointing out that the campaign organization will deemphasise the old method of mobilizing the people through the ward, local government and state levels, but will rather concentrate its mobilisations through the media.

He explained that the group was founded to engage the populace through the media on the programme, manifestoes, activities as well as the plans of the former Vice President towards the 2023 general elections.

“The combination of Atiku and Peter Obi would take Nigeria to greater heights against the catastrophic performance of the present administration which has elevated nepotism and favouritism in appointments and infrastructure to the highest level. We all know that this mis-governance has led to disunity and instability in the land like never before.

“The activities of the present government  has made Nigerians to see each other as rivals and the government of the day is not doing enough to build bridge across the country through its body language which has led to chaos, confrontations and agitation” he lamented.

The Director described Atiku Abubakar as a well known democrat who in the course of aspiring to lead Nigeria has never derailed from democratic ethics and tenets of democracy.
