Four days after winning the Presidential Primary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the party said on Tuesday that it will on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 present the Certificate of Return to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar the winner of its presidential ticket.
The former Vice President had at the PDP national convention defeated the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, during the presidential primary that drew delegates from 36 states of the federation.
Atiku had during the Presidential Primary Election scored 371 votes to defeat the governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike, who scored 237 votes.
The PDP has, however, announced on Tuesday that the National Working Committee (NWC) will on Wednesday presents certificate of return to Atiku, who is the party flag bearer for the 2023 election.
In the announcement, the party invited state governors on the platform of the party, governorship candidates, presidential aspirants and other party stakeholders.
PDP, in a statement by its spokesman, Hon. Debo Ologunagba said, “the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) invites all our Governors, Governorship Candidates, Presidential aspirants, members of the Board of Trustees, members of the National Assembly, all other Candidates of the Party and all critical stakeholders to the Special Ceremony of the Presentation of Certificate of Return to our Presidential Flagbearer, H.E. Atiku Abubakar (Waziri Adamawa).”
