Nnamdi Kanu Upbeat About Resumed Trial Until Hope Was Dashed, ‘We Don’t Have Access To Him’, His Lawyer Cries Out

Reports reaching our news desk say that the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was preparing to come to court today when suddenly he was told that his movement to court would no longer be possible.

Even his compatriots in prison custody elsewhere were similarly informed by prison officials that they were not going to be taken to court today. These caused some anger and disenchantment amongst them.
Meanwhile, at the Justice Binta Byako Federal High Court on Monday, the prosecution told the court that it could not produce the leader of Indigenous Peoples of Biafra and other activists to resume their trial because of logistics reasons.

Mr M.D Abubakar said “My Lord, Nnamdi Kanu and others are not in court today due to logistics issues”.

However his lawyer and leading counsel, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has told Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court Abuja, that the DSS has denied him (his lawyer) and relatives of Kanu the opportunity to see him.

“I was informed authoritatively, I am speaking from the bar, that Nnamdi Kanu has been taken out of jurisdiction of this court. We have been denied access to Kanu in the last 10 days.

“We are worried about his safety and don’t know why the Federal Government refused to bring him in court” Ejiofor lamented in the court on Monday.
