Miss Chidinma Ojukwu, the alleged murderer of Usifo Ataga, the chief executive officer of Super TV, today, Monday, August 9, 2021 appeared in a Magistrate Court sitting in Yaba, Lagos and was subsequently remanded in prison custody by the magistrate.
Our Reporter said no plea was however taken, but Miss Chidinma Ojukwu looked sober and forlorn even though she appeared trendy and pretty in her attire.
The presiding magistrate, Adeola Adedayo gave the order following a remand application by the police prosecutor, who said the offence is a capital offence that does not deserve a bail.
Miss Ojukwu, a 300-level student of the University of Lagos was arrested by the police on June 23 for allegedly killing Mr Usifo in a hotel room.
The suspect was alleged to have been dating the deceased before the ugly incident occurred. On interrogation, Miss Ojukwu narrated how she stabbed Usifo Ataga several times, stole from him and left him in the AirBnB apartment where they were lodged.
It will be recalled that the deceased, Usifo was found dead with multiple stabs on June 16 at a short let apartment on Adebowale Oshin Street, Lekki Phase I where he had checked in with Chidinma.
Chidinma Ojukwu, the prime suspect and a 300-level Mass Communication student of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) was consequently arrested on June 23 in her father’s house in Yaba and paraded at the Lagos State Police Command headquarters in Ikeja.
