In continuation of his administration’s Kinetic Abia Project that involves rehabilitation, construction and commissioning of road projects across the state, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State will tomorrow, Thursday, July 15, 2021 commission the first phase of Umuobiakwa-Owo Ahiafo road in Obingwa local government area of the state.
Those to accompany the Abia chief executive to the commissioning ceremony include the Deputy Governor, Rt Hon Ude Oko Chukwu, Speaker, Abia House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Orji, former and current members of the state executive council as well as members of the body of special advisers and assistants to the Governor
A statement issued by the State Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu said the event will commence by 12noon, adding that the Governor will later inspect other ongoing road projects in the area.
The statement reads in part: “Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, will commission the first phase of Umuobiakwa-Owo Ahiafo road in Obingwa Local Government Area on Thursday, 15th July, 2021, at 12noon, and later inspect other ongoing road projects.
“The Governor has invited the following to accompany him to the programmes:
a. “Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Ude Oko Chukwu, former and current members of the state executive council as well as members of the body of special advisers and assistants to the Governor
b. “Members representing Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo, Aba North/South and Isiala Ngwa North/South Federal Constituencies at the National Assembly.
c. “Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, and members of the 7th Abia State House of Assembly
d. “Members of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) led by Hon. Michael Ibe
e. “State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Rt. Hon. Asiforo Okere, and party stakeholders
f. “Members of the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers led by HRM Eze Joseph Nwabekee
g. “State Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, Apostle Emma Agomuo and members of the clergy.
