It was a sober and serene moment at the Anthony Agbazuere’s country home in Ikem Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa LGA of Abia State during the committal to mother earth of the body of late Prophetess (Mrs.) Onnyinyechi Dorcas Agbazuere, wife of the Chief of Staff to the Governor Okezie IKpeazu, Prof. Anthony Agbazuere on Friday, November 19, 2021.
Many people who couldn’t control their emotions wept profusely for this woman of faith, Prayer Warrior and Evangelist as she was lowered to the bowel of the earth that became her final resting place.
The funeral ceremony was conducted by the Bible Redeemed Mission Church, Umuahia where she served as a Church worker and preacher before her death. The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) was also on hand to assist in the conduct of the burial service held at Professor Agbazuere’s Green Field, Ikem Nvosi.
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu who spoke at solemn assembly urged his Chief of Staff, Prof. Agbazuere to bear the loss with fortitude and also enjoined him to always be there for his children to ensure that they would not miss their mother so much.
The Abia chief executive admitted that losing a dear wife is a very difficult experience, but said that no one should question God. Governor Ikpeazu assured that God will console him and the entire family.
In their speeches, the Senator representing Abia Central, Senator T.A Orji and the Speaker Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji said that death is inevitable and therefore asked Agbazuere to be consoled, while praying to God to grant him the strength to bear the loss.
Contributing, the former Chief of Staff to former Imo State Governor, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu encouraged the chief mourner to take heart and reminded him and the entire Agbazuere family that God Almighty will continue to guide them.
In their tributes, the Chairman Umuahia North Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Philip Ajomiwe who spoke on behalf of the people of Umuahia North, the deceased maiden home, Eze Dr Solomon Nwakwue on behalf of Ikem Nvosi Community and Mrs Ijeoma Agomuo of the Ikem Nvosi Women Association regretted the sudden demise of Mrs Onyinyechi Agbazuere and described her as a “very good woman who lived life worthy of emulation”.
The General Overseer, Bible Redeemed Mission Church, Rev. (Chaplain) Oliver Ibezim in his sermon, described death as inevitable.
The General Overseer, who spoke on the topic “Remember Your Creator” charged Nigerians to imbibe the fear of God in their daily assignments, warning that God will bring up everything done in the secret to the open during the Day of Judgment.
He charged the living to make good use of their time and be reconciled to God and enjoined Prof. Agbazuere to be consoled while praying God to sustain him.
In a funeral oration, the Chief Mourner and Chief of Staff to the Abia State Governor said he did not lose just a wife, but a good woman and regretted her untimely demise.
He disclosed that his late wife was privileged to have the divine gift of prayer and always stood by him, pointing out that she was actually a jewel of inestimable value.
Aged 44 years, late Prophetess (Mrs.) Onyinyechi Dorcas Agbazuere was survived by her husband, Prof. Anthony Agbazuere, two children, parents and host of other relations.
The burial ceremony also attracted the presence of the wife of the Governor, Dr. (Mrs.) Nkechi Ikpeazu, Senate Minority Leader, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Member representing Isiala Ngwa North/Isiala Ngwa South at the National Assembly, Hon. Darlington Nwokocha, Minister of Science & Technology represented by Dr. Tom Johnson and many others.
