Sacrifices Of Prophet Ibrahim Should Be Your Watchword, Umuahia Chamber Of Commerce President Counsels Muslims

As Muslims all over the world celebrate Eid-Al Kabir, the President of Umuahia Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (UCCIMA), Chief Chidi Aruoma has charged Nigerian Muslims to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice, tolerance and love as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

In a goodwill message to Muslims around the world, particularly the business community, the UCCIMA President maintained that this year’s celebration should be an opportunity to reflect and imbibe the exemplary virtues shown by Prophet Ibrahim.

His word, “I heartily felicitate with our Muslim members, associates and partners of UCCIMA, and Nigerians on this year’s Eid-Al Kabir celebration. This year’s celebration is an opportunity for us to reflect and imbibe the exemplary virtues shown by Prophet Ibrahim.

“In the face of current economic and socio-political challenges such as high unemployment especially among the youths, an erosion of monetary value and increase in cost of living due to high inflation rate, insecurity etc. I implore the private sector and the government of Nigeria to take a cue from one of the pillars of this celebration, which is sacrifice.

“Collectively, we must make sacrifices and do all it takes for Abia State and Nigeria as a whole to recover and achieve sustainable, inclusive economic growth and development”.

Aruoma therefore used the medium to reassure the business community in Umuahia and its environs that UCCIMA, as a leading member of the organized private sector of Nigeria and also associates to Bilateral Chambers, business and professional associations, and entire business community in Nigeria, will play its part by not relenting in its mission to ensure an enabling business environment, through its advocacy role.

The UCCIMA President, who is also the African Regional Coordinator for AFRO Business Promotion Federation (ABPF), urged the celebrants to celebrate responsibly by adhering to all COVID-19 prevention measures aimed at mitigating the risk of a spike in the new cases while the nationwide vaccine rollout continues.
