Simon Ekpa, a stalwart of Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) was appointed to head Radio Biafra, because of his unwavering loyalty and commitment to the project of realizing the Sovereign State of Biafra, it was revealed.
Radio Biafra is a medium for the secessionist struggle. It was learnt that Simon Ekpa, who holds a dual citizenship of both Nigeria and Finland, was so appointed following the detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of IPOB.
Since the detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu at the Department of State Services, (DSS} facilities on Tuesday, July 29, 2021 following a court order, there has been a lull in the activities of the body until Ekpa announced his appointment via a post on his official Facebook page.
“On this note, it is an honour, and at the same time, a call to service, a call to serve the Biafra nation, and a call to serve lovers of freedom.
“This task, I will do with everything in me to see that we maintain the momentum and the legacy of our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and IPOB”.
It will be recalled that federal government, through the effort of the Nigerian security and intelligence agencies in collaboration with authorities from other undisclosed country, arrested and repatriated Nnamdi kanu to the country.
This is nearly four years Kanu fled the country following an attack in his house in Afaraukwu Ibeku in Umuahia North, Abia State, South East of Nigeria by the Nigerian military. The event occurred on September 17, 2017.
Kanu is currently detained at the facilities of the Department of State Services.
The SaharaReporters, was quoted to have said that Simon, who has been living in Finland for more than a decade, is a politician in Finland and was recently elected Deputy Councillor in his Municipality.
