Retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, Barr Azubuko Udah, has thrown his weight behind the clarion call for a Nigerian President of Igbo extraction in 2023, saying that it will speedily end agitations and killings in the Southeast geopolitical zone.

Udah who spoke in his Agbua-Ozuitem country home in Bende L.G.A, of Abia State on Saturday shortly after a one-day meeting with members of a 2023 Pro-Igbo presidency group, known as Okezuo Igbo Organization, contended that if the federal government is serious with the mantra of pursing peace, it should start it with applying the doctrine of equality, fairness, equity and justice to Ndigbo.

Membership of the Okezuo Igbo Organization is drawn from the five eastern states and led by Ezinwa Lemmy Akuakonobi, its National Coordinator.

Udah during the meeting maintained that the Igbo the question has to be addressed in the year 2023 as the Yoruba question was addressed in 1999 and it produced President Olusegun Obasanjo.

He was of the opinion that in the present arrangement, the North, Southwest and South-south had all produced the president of the country except the Igbo speaking states from either Southeast or South-south, adding that the Igbos are not only bona fide citizens of the country, but pan Nigerians, whose enormous sacrifices to the growth, progress and development of Nigeria and contributions cannot be quantified.

Adah passionately appealed to the other regions of the country to rally round and support the movement because it is against doctrine of all religious bodies to exclude the Igbos who are the best the country has from the scheme of things in Nigeria.

Briefing newsmen later, Lemmy Akuakonobi who exposed and expounded the motive behind the movement, explained that the Organization is a group of like minds for the actualization of the dreamed 2023 Igbo Presidency project.

While expressing the preparedness of the group to move out and interface with the Igbo brothers in the North and Western part of the country, Ezinwa Akuakonobi, disclosed that the group is aggressively sensitizing and mobilizing the grassroots for support and would soon pay a courtesy visit to the former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
