It was indeed a gathering of who’s who at the International Conference Centre, Abuja as the elder statesman and former Senate President; Senator Ken Nnamani launched his book titled “Standing Strong” recently with President Muhammadu Buhari, saying Nnamani will bridge all sociopolitical gaps of the nation.
The take away at the book launch include the convergence of people of different backgrounds and interests for only one purpose: apparently to see Nnamani through in the expected reengineering of the country in 2023.
Amongst those that gathered at the launch included Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, former Army chief, Lt Gen Theophilus Danjuma, all APC Governors, the Ooni of Ife, former Petroleum Minister, Don Ethelbert, Major El Mustapha, former Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu, captains of industries, retired Generals, top politicians as well as Chairman of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio who unveiled the book.
President Muhammadu Buhari at the colourful event, described Nnamani as one who has stood for democracy since the advent of the Fourth Republic, saying that he also a is trusted patriot who unwaveringly, believes in the Nigerian Project.
Represented by the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, the President noted that with a personality like Senator Nnamani, Nigeria will experience positive growth.
He described the book as an encyclopedia of democracy and stressed that if the information contained in it is implemented, the country would experience a remarkable turnaround and speedily growth of its democracy.
Buhari praised the former Senate President for standing and believing in Nigeria even in difficult times, contending that such people are rear to fine in a country replete with ethnic and tribal loyalty.
Meanwhile, two groups, the Ken Nnamani Solidarity Support Group (KNSSG) and Nigerians United Forum for Igbo President 2023 (NUF-IGBO PRESIDENT 2023) have asked the former Senate boss to join the 2023 Presidential race for the interest of Ndigbo in particular and Nigerians in general.
According to the two groups, Senator Ken Nnamani as a de-tribalised Nigerian who would bring together the Babel of voices across the nation to fruitful platform, adding that he is intelligent, credible and upright to do the job.
Chief Chukwudike Abraham who heads KNSSG and Oscar Amanambu, Coordinator of NUF-Igbo President 2023 in separate statements, opined that as a refined politician, Nnamani has the capacity and charisma to move Nigeria forward.
Said Abraham, “Nigerians has a lot to gain if Nnamani is elected President of Nigeria; will mobilize Nigerians towards the Nnamani Project”, while Amanambu acknowledged in his statement, “he has all it takes to be President of Federal of Nigeria”.
