A Christian non-governmental organization (NGO) the Lively Hope Foundation will tomorrow Sunday, December 26, 2021, distribute cash, foodstuffs and medi-care to many indigent people of Umuahia South in fulfillment of its divine vision which has become an annual ritual hinged on helping the downtrodden to survive the hard times.
The venue will be Apumiri, Ubakala, the headquarters of Umuahia South LGA of Abia State is wearing a new look as eminent personalities that cuts across party lines will grace the epoch-making ceremony that will future praise onto the Almighty God. The time will be 2pm.
The founders of the Lively Hope Foundation, Rev. Benson Ezem and his wife, Pastor Patricia Ezem, explained that the NGO was founded in Ubakala Clan, Umuahia South in December 2004 under auspices of the Lively Hope World Outreach incorporated (LHWO).
Rev Ezem who is a world renowned architect is the president of the group, while his wife is the executive vice president. According to them, the vision of God came directing them to start the organization aimed at providing succour to the less privileged, pointing out the Holy Spirit also asked them to erect alter of praise and worship (music) unto His Holy name in the land of Ubakala Clan on a later date.
The aim, the couple, revealed was to steer Ubakala Clan, one of three Clans of Umuahia South, from fetish behaviours and celebrations during Christmas and New Year festivities, adding that all that will be done on December 26, 2021 will be to the glory of God which will be to enliven the mind for recreation and provides room for a potent evangelism of the word of God.
There is also a scholarship arm of the foundation where indigent students are provided with sums of money and materials to enable them go through the higher institutions of their choice without their studies being punctured in any year until they graduate in any of their chosen course of study such as medicine, engineering, accountancy, pharmacy nursing, law etc.
Said Rev Benson Ezem and Patricia Ezem “certainly, this vision, like all visions of the Almighty has not disappointed the Ubakala people and even beyond since it was established as the place now serves as a Jerusalem of Umuahia during Xmas and New Year festivities since 2004.
Actually, unlike other NGOs that fade away after the founder had lost out in politics, the Lively Hope Foundation has continued to grow in leaps and bounds, lasting for 17 years and still counting. Thousands of Abia indigenes have so far benefitted from the gestures of this organization.
