Infidelity: Man Kills Wife, Son In Anambra …Evil Spirits Possessed Me After Taking Hemp, He Cries

  A 28-year-old man, Chukwuemeka Obijofor of Akabo village, Orsumenyi in Nnewi South local government area of Anambra State has killed his wife and his only child over infidelity.

Chukwuemeka Obijofor who reside at Nza Ozubulu in  Ekwusigo LGA of Anambra State, said he could no longer bear it; hence his decision to commit the murder.

Explaining the reasons behind his dastardly act to journalists in Awka, the suspect said he killed his wife, Chisom and his four-year- old son, Chiamanda, because he found out that his wife was cheating on him with some unknown men.

He also confessed to killing his child because his wife confirmed to him that he is not the true biological father of the child, adding that he may have been gripped by unknown spirits, which compelled him to kill both of them.

The suspect who killed the victims with a shovel was on Saturday February 6, 2021 paraded before newsmen at the Anambra State Police Command Headquarters, Amawbia by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, CSP Haruna Mohammed.

Obijiofor who narrated his ordeal before newsmen revealed what transpired on that fateful day, adding that he had gone to borrow money from a client to enable his wife cook early. But on arrival to his house, he disclosed, he found two strange men sitting side by side with his wife.

“When I came home to give her some money, I saw two strange men sitting beside my wife in my house. When I queried my wife, she raised her voice and later took me to the backyard, telling me to calm down.

“Please, I want you people to forgive me, what happened was a mistake”, he cried, stressing “she was trying to calm me down when I noticed that the men had left. They left without even greeting me. So, I got annoyed and left my wife and child. I told her to leave me and let me go on my own since she has already chosen the people she loves.

“I went on my own and sat somewhere to smoke my hemp, but my wife was still following me about and dragging with me.

She did not want me to continue my work, so after I had taken my hemp, I found out that it made the matter even worse. That was what happened.”

On why he also killed his innocent child, Obijiofor said his late wife disclosed to him that he was not the biological father of the child.

He therefore blamed his action on some evil spirits which, according to him, had possessed him at that moment, explaining that his condition was aggravated by the Indian hemp he had smoked at that time the wife alerted him of not being the biological father of his son.
