Nnamdi Kanu: Reports Show He May Have Voluntarily Surrendered Himself To Pave Way For Referendum

There are strong indications that the leader of Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, may have voluntarily surrendered to the Nigerian authorities for trial in Nigeria following agreement reached by the international bodies that he should free himself from the allegations of terrorism and criminalities leveled against him by the federal government.

Some documents our Reporter stumbled into say that following series of meetings between the Nigerian government and some international bodies on one hand and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu on one hand, the best that was arrived at was for him to first of all discharge of the terrorism and treason charge against him.

The meetings were held in the United States of American and the issue centered on granting Kanu’s request for referendum, but the issue was countered by the federal government insistence that Kanu is a terrorist.

The international consultants of both sides have been slugging it out in recent times in international fora. Our sources maintained that the federal government was the first to hire some international consultants and legal experts based in the United States before IPOB leadership hired theirs.

It was gathered that IPOB’s were the best in USA as “they are vast in handling referendum and peaceful separation by of countries who are no longer interested in staying together”

However, after their last meeting in USA between IPOB and the international community, MNK was advised by his international consultants and legal team to hand himself over to the Nigerian government through the Interpol, who will be in charge during his period in detention.

The source continued, “the international community which is about to ask Nigeria to conduct a referendum, but MNK needs to clear his name and that of his organization from the terrorism charge placed on them by the Nigerian government as the international community will not oversee a democratic referendum with someone who is still proscribed by the country he is seeking right of self determination.

Our sources opined that “this is why they have attempted to assassinate Kanu’s lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor knowing that he has a lot of evidences to win the case in court against the Nigerian government”.

Kanu has repeatedly said that he will lead the battle from the frontline. Meanwhile, our sources have dismissed the old housewives’ tales of Nnamdi Kanu embarking on some lovemaking jamboree in Brazil or elsewhere.

“How can he at this level involve himself in such lovemaking spree? That story is a trash”, he declared.

After the agreement, Kanu was advised to move over to any country where the Interpol would be able to arrest him because, according to the source, the Interpol cannot arrest him or take him away on the British soil or any European country , being a British Citizen, even if he is not; unless they are deeply involved in the extradition plan.

Kanu, he informed, chose Kenya and therefore flew into the country on Sunday where he was arrested by the Interpol in disclosed location.

In another secret memo sent to some members of IPOB, the international media handler of IPOB, a white lady, asked members of “all IPOB families around the world to remain calm. Our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is safe and there is no cause for alarm.

“We’ll soon reveal the name of the East African country he was arrest in”, the lady said.

For now, the federal government is reportedly assembling legal luminaries from Nigeria and abroad to ensure the conviction of MNK in order to forestall the referendum and eventual dismembering of the nation.

If it fails to convict Kanu, a referendum will be conducted in the Eastern Nigeria or wherever Kanu is zeroing as the Sovereign State of Biafra, our Reporter reasoned. However, Ejiofor, Kanu’s chief lawyer, is certain that he will win the case, having had in his possession preponderance of evidences against the federal government.

The Attorney General and Minister of Justice of the Federation, Abubakar Malami has so far declined to give details of the events leading to Kanu’s arrest. Our Reporter observed that the development may have led to the federal government, Miyetti Allah and some elements in the core north opposed to MNK from jubilating excessively over Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s arrest and prosecution because of the dicey development.
