Ex Minister, Akobundu, Abia House Speaker Celebrate With Ogbodi Ukwu Women, Vow To Include Women In Scheme Of Things

Col Austin Akobundu rtd, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Abia Central Senatorial zone in 2023 general elections, has vowed to carry every indigene of the Abia Central Senatorial district along in the scheme of things if elected into the Senate in 2023.

Addressing the Ogbodi Ukwu Women of Umopara Clan in Umuahia South of Abia State during their 2022 August Meeting at Mbara Ogbodi on Friday, August 12, 2022, Akobundu, (the Dike Ako N’Mba of Ikwuano) who is also a former Minister of Defence State, urged the people to support the PDP and all its candidates in 2023 general elections.

The Speaker of Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, and candidate of PDP for Ikwuano, Umuahia North and Umuahia South Federal Constituency, Rt Hon Chinedum who also spoke at the event, asked the women to insist on supporting the PDP, stressing the need for them to be careful in next year’s elections.

The candidate of the party for Umuahia South State Constituency, Hon Jerry Uzosike commended the Ogbodi Ukwu for their commitment in community service and asked them not to relent.

Similarly, the former Chairman of Umuahia South LGA, Hon (Dr) Max Adindu, stated that the women including their male counterparts are in love with the developmental programmes of the party in government and assured both the former Minister of Defence and the Speaker of the State House of Assembly of the readiness of the people to stand behind the PDP at all times.

Interestingly, the two special guests, before leaving the arena, donated handsomely to the Ogbodi Ukwu women.
