Olori Silekunola Naomi, wife of Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunnwusi on Thursday announced that “I shall no longer be referred as to as wife to the Ooni of Ife or as Queen of Ile Ife”.
This is coming as the Ooni was reported to have secretly welcomed a new born baby in July this year from another woman.
She, in the announcement, reportedly seized the opportunity to correct some misconceptions about her over so many issues.
If the Queen quits the marriage, it will be the second time Ooni’s marriage will collapse since 2015 when he became King of Ile Ife. The Ooni has been involved in previous marriages.
Reports say he had his first child in 1994, Adeola Aanuolouwapo Ogunwusi whose mother Omolara Olatubosun lives in Ibadan Oyo State.
In 2008, he married Adebukola Bombata from whom he separated in 2016 to marry Zaynab Otiti Obanor (his second wife from 2016 to 2017). He then wedded Prophetess Naomi in October 2018 and presently tied to Olori Ahley Afolahade whom he introduced during his birthday party as his wife in October 2021.
