Is Orji Kalu Coming Back PDP? Anyanwu, PDP New Scribe’s Visit To Him, Leads To Spiral Speculations

Senator Sam Anyanwu, the Newly elected National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), today, Thursday, December 2, 2021 paid a visit to the Senate Chief Whip and former governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.

The PDP Scribe’s visit, which came barely 24 hours after a similar visit was paid by former President of the Senate, Anyim Pius Anyim, is coming amidst speculation that Kalu is preparing grounds to rejoin the PDP.

Anyanwu, who explained that his visit to the former governor of Abia State was a friendly one, said it was part of his wide consultations. However, it was gathered that he used the opportunity to commend Kalu for paying a visit to the detained IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

Anyanwu, in a chat with our Reporter declared, “it is a friendly meeting.  We have been friends for some time.  So there is no ulterior motive.”

However, a source at the meeting revealed that Anyanwu thanked Kalu for visiting the detained IPOB leader, Kanu, adding that also described Kalu as a reputable Southeast leader worthy of the homage.

According to the source, “Anyanwu said as a leaders in this country, we should try as much as possible to remove tears from  the eyes of Nigerians.”

“He also said as Leaders in the, we should try to allow Southeast to have a pride of place. Anyanwu commended Kalu for visiting him in detention and pointed out that Kanu is a criminal and not a terrorist.

“Anyanwu believes that Kanu is agitating to make sure that his people have a pride of place and that Kalu simply thanked the visitor and explained that they had been friends for long”.
