APC’s Script Of Tsunami In Abia Could Best Be Titled ‘Alice In Wonderland’

ABIA PDP MEDIA SUPPORT GROUP (AMSG)

We have seen the hallucinating news report in the Social Media credited to one inconsequential politician from Ikwuano LGA of our dear State, Abia. That news report from one Emmanuel Ekpo, a factional chairman of Ikwuano APC, who claimed to have received 35 members of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), (apparently in a hideout at Amawom Oboro), into the now hugely resented All Progressives Congress (APC) is the highest state of fantasy. Not minding that Ikwuano is wholly, spiritually and physically a PDP stronghold, Emmanuel Ekpo went ahead to mouthwash, whitewash and massage APC’s ego in Ikwuano.

Actually, there are two types of politicians: the ones who are aware of the truth and accept it with the openness of heart and those who are goaded by the thought of gratification from their masters and therefore choose the part of falsehood in order to get some handouts from the their principals.

We think that Emmanuel Ekpo is in the latter category. For him to fantasize of a Tsunami in Abia State is indeed a trance gone too far. By Tsunami, he means any reasonable Abian will have any cause to revert to APC, a party that hates Ndigbo with passion. Can any sane person ever dream of co-inhabiting with his/her enemy? APC overtly and covertly has shown that it is anti Igbo in all ramifications.

Despite the cries of Ndigbo and even other well meaning Nigerians that the Southeast should be included in the security apparatchik of our country, the latest appointments by President Muhammadu Bahari show that Ndigbo have no place in APC’s administration. The imperialist stance of the party towards Ndigbo is akin to a king lording it over his subjects with draconian impunity.

A party whose hierarchy of leadership cannot appointment an Igbo into sensitive positions is the same party Abians will join en masse? APC treats Ndigbo as second class citizens. Come to think of it, how has APC fared since it took over power at the federal level in 2015? PDP left a potent and virile economy in the hands of flatteners and what did they do with it? Flattening the economy with reckless abandon!  Rape and wreck that have left Nigeria barren; naira on a free fall from N185 to N470 per US Dollar and ethnic militias sprouting here and there and the likes of Emmanuel Ekpo are fantasizing that the same party that has put the rest of us in this peril will take over Abia in an imminent Tsunami in 2023?

Does he think Abians are fools? The drama he staged in Ikwuano can best be called “Alice In Wonderland”.  Who wants to leave a party/government that has built infrastructure, the road network is second to none (104 roads so far built by the Okezie Ikpeazu’s administration since the last fall and more are being built) to a wrecked party?

At the risk of descending so low, recounting all that the administration has done to Ndi Abia, one shouldn’t lose sight of the fact that Okezie Ikpeazu’s government has constructed and delivered many bridges, executed many gully erosion mediation projects, gave Ndi Abia its first ever Investment House, reconstructed Enyimba International Stadium to FIFA’s standard, rebuilt schools, established Cottage Industries around the state, revolutionized the agricultural sector and put down many other democracy dividends for Ndi Abia.

Then, the APC? The party, that has made mockery of Nigeria in the international community is the same party the likes of Emmanuel Ekpo are asking Abians to trust and join en masse, whimsically liking his wild dream to a Tsunami? Haba! Just yesterday, the Transparency International (TI) rated the APC-led Nigeria as second most corrupt country in West Africa, trailing Guinea-Bissau, (a failed state), and the 149th in the world (from 146th in 2019) out 180 countries polled. And that’s a party that will record the so called Tsunami in Abia State?

On security, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) sees APC-led Nigeria as the worst unsecured country in West Africa and one of the worst in the world. And that’s the party that will bring a Tsunami in Abia State? On human rights abuses, the Amnesty International (AI) records APC-led Nigeria as the hub of human rights violations and abuses. And yet, one parish-pump fellow is talking about Abia recording a Tsunami against God-ordain party, PDP and its government of Abia State.

APC, that has unleashed marauding Fulani Herdsmen against their fellow compatriots, is the same party Abians  want? In other words, Abians in the dream world of Emmanuel Ekpo are yearning for the repeat of the misdeeds of APC at the federal level in the state from 2023. In fact, to put it succinctly, Abia does not want you, APC or any other party for that matter. They have roundly rejected you and embrace our performing and result-oriented governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, PhD and the PDP QED.

Abians are comfortable with PDP and the likes of Emmanuel Ekpo cannot goal them into a burning furnace.  Someone should please wake Emmanuel Ekpo up from his harrowing tragedy of a dream.
