‘Why I resigned From PDP,  Withdrew From Its Presidential Race’, Peter Obi Reveals 

Mr Peter Obi, former governor of Anambta State, says he pulled outof the Presidential race in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and equally resigned from the party because of the latest development in PDP which greatly encourages sectionalism, nepotism and favouritism, saying that he will continue to offer his advice for the building of the nation.
The Director General, Peter Obi Campaign Organisation, Dr Doyin Okupe told reporters in Abuja today’s evening Wednesday, May 25, 2022, that his princepal has consistently said he is not desperate to rule Nigeria, but desperate to change the economy and the face of the nation for good.
Okupe stated that Mr Peter Obi has since sent the letter to his Ward Chairman as well as the national leadership of PDP since he made the decision to withdraw from the party on May 22, 2022, adding that he did so on noticing various manipulations by some elements in PDP.
He cited various developments in the party that made him not to fully express himself.
Addressing the Media in Abuja, the Director General of his Campaign Organization, Dr. Doyin Okupe, assured that Peter Obi will surely appear in the ballot.
