Plateau 2023: 18 APC Gov’norship Aspirants Threaten to Dump Party, If Gov Lalong Imposes Aspirant on Them

Plateau governorship aspirants under the platform of  the All progressive Congress in (APC) have threaten to dump the APC if due process is not followed in electing the Gubernatorial flag bearer for the party ahead of the primaries billed for the end of this  month in Jos, Plateau state Capital.

Addressing a Press conference in Jos on Monday, Chairman/convener of the forum Plateau APC Governorship aspirants, Chief Amon Gizo warned that any attempt by the Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong or the party hierarchy to foist a candidate on the party and the people of plateau state will be resisted.

According to Gizo, the forum is also asking the party leadership to address forthwith the use of ad hoc delegates with amendments for the primaries, adding that the list of those who are members of the forum include the Deputy Governor, Sonnie Tyoden, Professor Dakas Dakas, Mr.Sunday Biggs , Dr Patrick Dakum and 14 others.

The Aspirants, he disclosed, are also demanding that there should no imposition of any kind and that consensus should be done by the aspirants themselves.

Gizo maintained that any aspirant that emerged through consensus will be supported by the rest of the aspirants and be given the blueprints of other aspirants to be imbedded in to his manifestoes and programmes.

The aspirants at the forum queried the body language of Governor Lalong as his family, wife and in-laws are doing everything to impose a candidate on the party among several issues raised.
