Nigerians in United Kingdom have described the postponement of President Muhammadu Bahari’s visit to London as the only way to avert the humiliation that would have accompanied it.
The President Friday afternoon suspended the medical trip to London for undisclosed reason. The President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina said in a statement in Abuja that the medical trip has been suspended.
The statement read, “The medical follow up visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to the United Kingdom earlier scheduled for today, Friday, June 25, 2021 has been postponed.
“A new date will be announced in due course”.
Nonetheless, two Nigerians who live in the United Kingdom said the embarrassment and humiliation Buhari would have received in London would have been unprecedented.
“The rallies we planned against him would have been the mother of all rallies; it’s good he aborted the trip that’s whatever called. Nigerians came from all parts of UK to join us in London”, Ikechukwu Ogbonna, a London resident revealed.
Our Reporter maintained that the postponement of the medical trip by President Buhari may not be unconnected with the deluge of protests by by Nigerians all over the world particularly Nigerians living in the United Kingdom who saw the medical trip as an affront to Nigeria’s sovereignty.Uche Nwosu is a two time Shell Petroleum PLC award winner in the year 2000;
