The Abia State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alwell Asiforo Okere has commended Professor Greg Ikechukwu Ibe, Chancellor of Gregory University, Uturu (GUU), for donating 58 bags of rice to the party in the state.
Okere who received the bags of rice, as the party’s Christmas gift on behalf of the members at the PDP Secretariat in Umuahia, on Sunday, described Ibe as man full of human kindness.
He outlined the various remarkable and valuable contributions of Prof Greg Ibe and explained that the PDP as the biggest political party in West Africa, needs worthy and sincere minded contributors and builders like Prof Ibe.
“It’s people like you who spares no dime to build the party and made it an enviable organisation today we’re looking for”, he opined.
Said he, “Days are gone when money bags fly in like hulks to snatch power and positions without contributing to the growth of the party. When they succeed at it, they abandon the party at the least misunderstanding. With Prof Greg Ibe, the case is different. He has shown resilience, patience, capacity and commitment to serve the party and his people.
“We don’t encourage those politicians who don’t invest in our party and jump from one political party to another because we believe in the natural law of “sowing in the right season and harvesting at the due time”. It is our fervent prayers that we shall never lack a benevolent, philantropic personality like Prof Greg Ikechukwu Ibe, Ph. D, Enyi Abia, Uri Chi dere, the champion of Entrepreneur Development in Nigeria”
Hon Prince Emeka Okafor, the Chairman of Abia Crusaders Foundation, who led the Steering committee members to the State PDP Secretariat in his response, thanked the PDP Chairman; Rt Hon Asiforo Okere for his pragmatic and professional approach in building back lost grounds of the PDP.
He informed the Chairman that Prof Greg Ikechukwu Ibe, through the Foundation is distributing 3277 bags of rice; packaged in 50, 25 and 10 kg respectively to the 292 ABSIEC electoral Wards and 17 LGA’s of Abia State as Christmas gifts while recalling that presently, Prof Greg Ibe has 350 undergraduate as beneficiaries of his scholarship scheme.
Okafor also highlighted his contributions during the COVID 19 pandemic and many other contributions to enhance the gains of Abia State.
He also thanked the State Party Chairman for receiving the Christmas gift from Prof Greg Ibe whom and explained that for ythe fact h received the gift shows his kind heartedness.
