The founder and Chancellor of Gregory University, Uturu, Prof Greg Ibe has been described as a route to peace and seamless development in Abia State.
HRH Eźe Sampson Jinanwa, Ise 1 of Amaise Ovungwu in Umudiele Amaise Autonomous Community Isiala Ngwa South LGA of Abia State made this known during his 20th year anniversary of his installation as the traditional ruler of the community.
The royal father poured encomiums on Prof. Ibe while investing the chieftaincy title of Ebogu Iwealaa 1 of Amaise Ovungwu Autonomous Community on him.
The traditional ruler recalled the impact made by Prof. Ibe during the Covid-19 saga when he provided palliatives and food stuffs to people of Abia State and pointed out that his efforts lessened the hardship in the state.
This, he observed, assisted the state government in carrying out its social responsibility programmes to the citizens.
In his words, ‘Prof Greg Ibe is the kind of person every community prays for, which is why I, on behalf of my Council of Chiefs, are proud to give him the Chieftaincy title of “Ebogu Iwealaa 1 of our autonomous community”.
Leading the members of the Steering Committee, Abia Crusaders Foundation to receive the award on behalf of Prof. Greg Ibe, Chief Surveyor Ibeaja was full of appreciation to Eze Jinanwa and sent goodwill messages to him, members of his cabinet and the good people of Amaise Ovungwu Autonomous Community.
Ibeaja, on behalf of Prof. Ibe used the event to promise that now he is a member of his cabinet, he shall contribute his quota to the development of the community and also partner the community in development and other areas of her endeavour.
