All may not be well in the APC in Abia State, following the alleged riff between the Minister for state Mines and Steel Development, Dr Uchechukwu Sampson Orji and the Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Rep. Nkeiruka Onyijeocha.
The alleged throwing of brickbats between both camps culminated in the alleged tongues lashing and even smacks on Senator Ken Nnamani by Onyejeocha, who is the member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency.
The sources have it that the big drama took place in Isuochi last weekend, the home town of the Deputy Chief Whip of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon Nkeiruka Onyejeocha during the visit of Senator Ken Nnamani led APC South East monitoring team on party revalidation.
the sources stated that the drama started when Distinguished Senator Ken Nnamani allegedly told Onyejiocha to accord the Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr Uchechukwu Ogah some respect as a minister and also former gubernatorial candidate of the party in 2021 election, pointing out that the way she takes on the minister through her media attack dogs at any given time is an embarrassment to the party both in Abia and national.
According to the sources , Nnamani said the party can’t get Abia if they continue to fight dirty, adding that he was worried that Onyejiocha usually calls the camp of Dr Ogah an expired camp. “All these can bring too much crisis to the party”, he was quoted to have said .
At this junction, the sources informed, Rep Onyejiocha who was allegedly boiling uncontrollably on the sermon of Senator Nnamani thundered in anger immediately the Senator hinted that Dr Ogah was instrumental to her reelection into the house of representatives – “If not for Dr Ogah, you wouldn’t have been reelected into the house of representatives. He delivered his local government very well”.
Onyejeocha, whom the sources said, couldn’t hold back her anger started raving “Distinguished Senator Enough, Enough sir Enough sir until her right hand landed on the right cheek of the Senator. Even at then, she continued, “how can you say that a man who couldn’t make any wave in the last governorship contest in Abia, who also couldn’t even buy party nomination form, delivered me during the election?
“I want to state it categorically clear that Dr Ogah didn’t even vote for APC on that day”, she was allegedly quoted to have responded.
The meeting according to the sources ended as she walked out of the monitoring committee.
